What’s most impressive about this small neighborhood bakery/café is how they do things with class. Coffee (P15) is in a paper cup but served with a sugar bowl, a milk jug and a stirring stick on its own tray!
There is usually an entrée of the day. Last time I visited, it was Spaghetti and Meatballs (P120), simple but done well. The serving was generous, the pasta was al dente and the meatballs, large and flavorful. Plus points, too, for the freshly made chunky tomato sauce.
Among their cakes, I recommend the Apple Walnut Cake (P80/slice), dense with a strong cinnamon and apple flavor and a delightful crunch of brown sugar and cinnamon crust on top.
I also like how they can be very creative. They served their cheesecake with a chocolate-covered stick in it, resulting in a Cheesecake Pop (P85) that had the right balance of tangy cheesecake and sweet chocolate, perfect for a cocktail party! They also have Red Velvet Cake (P95/slice), which is literally bright red due to the cocoa powder. In between each layer is a spread of butter cream covered with a glaze, chopped nuts and cake crumbs. Scrumptious!
