For nearly 36 years, Koreans and locals have been flocking over for some of the tastiest bulgogi in town. The selection here is extensive but the prices are reasonable. I sampled the vegetable platter (P120) along with my favorite chicken fillet (P150) and kalbi (beef short ribs, P 290). The vegetable platter consisted of sliced onions, green peppers, eggplant, lettuce and mushroom. A tasty surprise was the quick-seared lettuce that was then dipped in sweet soy. The meat took on a delectable sweet garlicky flavor. The short ribs had just the right amount of fat to give it chewy tenderness. Try their lumpia (P110), which seems to be their version of Kujolpan, or Korean spring roll. This mildly sweet pancake with vegetable filling excellently matches the smoky, garlicky flavor of the grilled meats. And you don’t have to order appetizers and desserts, as these are on the house.
